One of Amtrak's new SC44 Chargers (built by Siemens) leads the early morning northbound run of the Saluki towards Chicago.

The "Saluki" on its 310 mile run from Carbondale to Chicago exiting the Illinois Central station in Mattoon, Illinois.

Descending the SCAL from the CNIC to the BNSF, an Amtrak short-haul nears the end of its' journey, minutes away from Chicago Union Station.

The Saluki arrives in Chicago, coming in over the St. Charles Air Line. It will head down the ramp to the west, then back into Chicago Union Station.

The inbound Saluki hits the hump in the St. Charles Air Line that helps it clear Canal Street, which in turn is over the Canal Street Wye. Below, a Metra train awaits the afternoon rush.
